About Us

What is NAPSA NSW/ACT?

NAPSA NSW/ACT (National Association of Prospective Student Advisers) is a professional association primarily for professionals in student recruitment and marketing within the tertiary education sector of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. It is governed by an Executive Committee who are appointed at the Annual General Meeting.

NAPSA aims to provide networking opportunities for likeminded individuals as well as facilitate points of contact for the exchange of information to prospective students.

Our members are provided with valuable resources to enable the promotion of their institution and for them to gain insight into prospective student events such as careers markets. The following resources are organised and distributed by NAPSA:

Careers Market Calendar(Members only): a listing of careers markets in NSW and the ACT
Careers Advisers Calendar: typically for careers advisers and teachers to view when major tertiary open days are being held
WDYDI Guide: The Where Do You Do It Guide enables prospective students, careers advisers and teachers to find an area of interest and the educational institutions offering courses listed under each area of study.

Who can become a member of NAPSA NSW/ACT?

To be eligible for membership, the applicant's employer must:

have an address within NSW or ACT
have a CRICOS Provider Code and/or be an AQF-approved Registered Training Organisation
have a level of attainment in tertiary study either vocational or higher education
be involved with prospective student recruitment or prospective student advising e.g. attend careers markets and school talks
be prepared to be actively involved in NAPSA by attending the Annual General Meeting, End of year meeting and Professional Development seminars.

Biennial Conference

In attempting to promote professional development, a Biennial Conference is held in a different chapter's state, to benefit prospective student advisers in both Australia and New Zealand. The 2010 Conference will be organised by this chapter. Stay tuned for details.

NAPSA National

The "NAPSA" discussed in this website is the bi-state body and not to be confused with NAPSA (National). NAPSA National allows for NSW/ACT chapter members to liaise with other interstate members so that ideas can be collaborated.
